If you started your period 3 weeks ago, and it has persisted this long then you need to go see a doctor immediatly. The longest your cycle should go is 2 weeks, but even that is outrageously long.

You are still going to have your period while you take birth control. I am not a profesional but I would say that it has nothing to do with your birth control. But go see a doctor soon, before the situation can get any worse.

Bleeding for that long is not normal, but it's not usually anything serious. There are a lot of things that can cause prolonged bleeding such as stress, diet changes and overall state of mind. It's amazing how our feelings can affect our bodies.

However, I'm not sure I understand your situation with BC. Are you saying that you started the patch three weeks ago, and then took it off a week later? If that's the case, then that's probably why you're bleeding.

Either way, you need to see your doctor to rule out infection to be on the safe side. Ease of mind is always worth the visit. Your doctor will want to do a pelvic exam, most likely, and then they will talk to you about your BC also. You need to make sure that you use it properly because it really can mess with your cycle.

Hope this helps, hun. You'll feel much better after seeing your gyno.

sounds like to me you took the patch off at the wrong time you wear three patches then miss a week you don't take it off the second week or start the patch the sunday after your period starts and it will be easier to keep up with you need to call your doctor and see how they want you to clear this up you probably just need tp put on a patch and take it off on week 4

I hear from a lot of people that when they stop taking birth control, is messes up their cycle and they have their periods for a long time. I have a friend who stopped taking the pill and had her period for 3 weeks. I don't know if this is normal, but i wouldn't worry unless it doesn't quit...

That is definitely a disorder. Go see a doctor immediately. The longer you wait the more dangerous it gets. I had extended period in the past, it was all because of stress, improper dieting and no exercise but your situation could be a symptom of something more sinister. Go see the doctor now.

I guess I would have to say it all depends how you are bleeding..light? Heavy? I would go to the doctor though. Maybe the hormones are too strong for you or something. Doesn't sound good..vist your OBGYN..I know it sux..but you need to make sure everything's ok in there!!

How old are you? Sounds like fibroids. When I got of the patch I bled like CRAZY until I had my D and C.

It could be from a number of things, the first thing that comes to mind is stress. If you have been stressed out / depressed lately this could be the cause. If not I would check with your gyno to get a diognosis.
