I'm sure that must suddenly occur during practice or competition. Not the first, but the months afterwards.

well im not a gymnast..but i am a swimmer AND female..

i'm sure they just finish their event and run to the bathroom for a tampon...that's what i do at swim practice or a meet if i get my period...

most girls know about when their period is going to come so they're prepared for it...

and when it starts it's usually not like gushing blood right away. it starts out with a little brown stuff on your underwear and you feel a little wet "down there" and bam a week of misery for ya

A lot of people who do sports or other activities have wierd tendencies but I don't think this is one. If they help you to warm up your legs so you can get your stuff right, go for it! Personally when I was tumbling I would wear sweats to warm up then started. It helped me. Legwarmers are cute! I'd do it if I still could!

It's a period, I'm pretty sure the girl would know how to handle it, gymnast or not.

ahah what a weird question to ask, coming from a guy.
um, they probably handle it...they probably kno when they are gonna get their period so they will expect it and be prepared.
