i woul like to start a debate the subject being net curtains as a photographer i am fasinated with them! my mum has a theory that she can tell betwwen pivate and social housing acording to the net curtains... please comment!!!!

hate them they are awfull things no matter what pattern or style they look gross

I think your Mum probably can. But I also think that if the housing is built closer together or right onto the road, there tends to be net curtains. If the houses are further apart or set back from the garden/road, then there is no need for nets. Council houses are usually built closer together...

personally i do not have net curtains....... then again i live in the country and my house over looks fields both back and front. I guess people use them in the city for privacy ..........
not sure i go with your mum though....... there are some really nice social houses...... and some really naff private ones out there....... is your mum saying if you live in social houseing you have to have dirty old nets in the windows? and if your privat crisp white ones?

I dont like net curtains at all. they do kind of remind me of old peoples homes. i just think they seem old fashioned. I have actually been told before that poor people have net curtains and rich people have blinds! I dont know!!

I prefer net curtains to blinds, blinds are a nightmare to keep clean and i think nets are prettier especially the jardineer ones, white, clean and fresh looking.

i loathe them.
especailly the ones that over time and years of smoke have turned yellow.
they are rife on housing estates, keeping out prying eyes from the incestious chavs!

i hate net curtains and i do not live in private accommodation. they are way too chinzy for me.

I HATE them! they remind me of old people. most of our neighbours have them and they're always twitching them when someone walks past. i, on the other hand, just draw back my normal curtains and have a good stare. bwah ah ha ha ha
