I took a friend out to dinner who turned 59. She could only remember as far as being a young woman. Not teens or a baby.

I remember being like 1-2 years old and I would climb the dresser drawers in my parent's bedroom like a ladder to reach and turn on the tv.

When I was about 7 I used to wake up my infant baby brother and sit on the couch and hold him and watch cartoons. I miss being a kid.

At 31 years old, my earliest memory is of walking around in a baby-walker eating a bowl of tomato soup with my cousin, who was also in a walker. At that time I had no concept of age, but I'm guessing anywhere from 9-14 months old, give or take a few weeks or days. I also recall going through my first automated carwash and asking what it was and being told it was a monster. I was just less than 2 in that example.

When I was a toddler, I was standing in my crib trying to reach something on my dresser and I fell out and my parents had to get me.

When I was 4, I was supposed to be taking a nap and my grandpa gave me a Snickers and Almond Joy through my bedroom window. He told me to give one to my brother and I ate them both.

I only have a few memories before I started kindergarten, but after kindergarten I have a lot. I'm 26 years old now. My boyfriend can't remember much about his childhood though and he's only 24!

I think some people daydream about their past more than others which is what helps them remember. If you never think about it/dwell on it, you probably don't remember as much. At least that is my theory. Maybe your friend's memory is declining though. It couldn't hurt to check it out.

I am 31 and I can remember back to about 3, but I only have one memory, I guess because it was tragic enough. Past that I can only remember back to Kindergarten. Funny how much we forget as we get older. Then you have people like my Father in law, whom has dementia and can remember his youth, but not what happened just 5 minutes ago.

Scary to think about getting older.

I was in my crib and someone came into my room and turned on the overhead light, but it popped like a flashbulb like they do, you know, when they burned out. I was so terrified that I was afraid to change light bulbs until I was 40 and had to hold some kind of shield between it and my face when I would screw it in.

I can remember things from when I was 2 and 3 - counting toilet paper squares, feeding the koi at Valley of the Temples...

But then, that wasn't so long ago.
