FDR, Queen Elizabeth I. Both brought their country out of great depressions by using innovative ideas and both had disabilities. FDR - Polio; Queen Elizabeth I - Being female in the 1500's. They both put their country before themselves and sacrificed a lot. That is what leadership is all about. I also agree with Heinz about Thomas Jefferson. He was amazing too! He knew science, engineering and politics. Total genius.

FDR led this country out of the depression and even fought World War 2 for awhile and still got us out of the depression if that isnt good i dont know what is.
JFk. Faced down russians, handled the Cuban Missle crisis very well (Bush would have pushed the nuke button in a heart beat i bet...)
Ronald Reagan who helped bring down the Berlin wall, and established a strong ecomony. Dont forget the Star Wars Program

Rudy Guiliani and Hillary Clinton are both good leaders because they have both been very successful in spite of how much they are hated by each other's supporters.

Militarily my favorite is GEN Mathew Ridgeway - he turned Korea completely around after McArthur left.
President-wise, I go with Truman. Took responsiblity for his and his adminstration's actions.
