Yes the Postal Service will pick up a parcel at your home. And contrary to other answers there is no 'extra' charge.

You can go to the USPS.com website, and do a one-time download of the Click N Ship software. You can print the label and pay online. Just make sure that you know the weight of the object.

Then you can stay online and order a carrier pickup. The carrier will pick up your parcel (s) and leave a receipt in your mailbox. It's really very easy.

An don't forget that the Postal Sercvice does not have a premium for Saturday delivery.

Or you could decide to use the competitors and pay a much higher price.

I am a carrier and pick up many parcels at homes on my route from eBay sellers. It saves them a trip to the post office.

Best wishes!

yeah, you can even have the united states postal service come and pick up your package. They are a lot cheaper than ups and fedex.

Yes, if you're willing to pay extra. And I hope they have most of the packing materials available at home.
