Being a gay man.. I wouldn't trade my girls for anything in the world... don't get me wrong, I have some awesome straight male friends that are the best in the world, but I can't exactly talk about the "intimate" details with them.
Gay men don't necessarily hang around with other gay men exclusively. There isn't cattiness among the gay man/straight woman relationship.... you honestly compliment one another, from my experience. You can be completely candid, open and honest with one another and its a wonderful relationship that is forged from it!
So by all means sweetie, go and grab up your brother in law and have a blast!

Friends are great... but don't fall into the trap of being a HAG.
(because if you do, we will have a great time until I meet someone, then you will sit at home and eat ice cream while I am out with my new love. OR.... you will get drunk one night and hit on me, and I might even make out with you, but I will laugh irrationally when you undress.... OR..... you will finally meet a nice guy who is into you, and not a felon. We will all have lunch together, and I will call you 1 hour latter and tell you to dump him.) FRIEND is a great job. HAG is a terrible one!

Not all of us gay men are social butterfly's and not all of us hang out with women to be their best Friend. However, some do.

Umm, I'd say my friends are 60% girls, 48% straight guys and 2% gay/bi guys if that's what you want? Most gays guys hang with girls, but that doesn't mean they only hang around girls... I mean, like, generally most girly guys that hang with girls are like the girls that you say are usually stupid so it's like the same thing... hope that helps
P.S. emphasis on words like MOST and USUALLY

I have some straight women friends who feel comfortable to have a man around who is not wanting to get in their pants...unfortunatly for a couple of others they want me in their pants and that has caused a few problems, rejection is never a good feeling.
I keep friends that have respect for themselves and for me...not just because they are a certain gender or sexuality.

Depends on you. If your a guy who says "Eww" everytime some one mentions the prospect of two guys kissing, then gay guys wont want you, but if you're fun to be around, why not? They dont stick with just one group of people.

You're applying to be a F*ag-hag?
Don't get me wrong, I have never thought of the term to be dirogitory or insulting, heck even as a bisexual (leaning lesbian) I have called myself that for years!
Well, congrats...a gay man will be your best friend...but a word of caution, don't piss him off or he can and will be your worst enemy!

If he's your gay brother-in-law than you must have a gay brother. Why don't you ask him instead. If he's your husband's brother, than your husband is probably gay. If a guy has a gay brother the gayness usually spreads to the other males in the household.
