"fast" is often used like the word "very" or "deep" in English.

Not too hard to understand.

The word " fast " has different definitions.

Fasting also means starving.

So when you sleep for hours you're not eating and basically you are actually starving yourself while asleep.

Normally, people tend to eat when they are awake and you can't eat properly while asleep.

So, you sleep for hours and not eating anything.

" fast " asleep.

people say "fast asleep" because when people are sleeping and when there is a loud sound they won't wake up
