Unfortunately ESPN dropped their NHL broadcasting contract about 4 months into the player lockout. They wont be broadcasting any NHL games until they sign a new one with the league. That hasn't happened this season, so it's pretty unlikely we'll see an NHL game on ESPN this season (that includes the playoffs).

NO, ESPN has NO contract with the NHL as far as broadcast rights. The NHL isn't going to change that just for the playoffs.

Definitely not this year, but I would want ESPN or ABC to cover the playoffs starting from next season. They did a much better job. Gary Thorne is by far the best play-by-play...that one guy on Versus who covers most of the big games is really painful to listen to.

Nope. All of the NHL games this year are on NBC and on the bike race network.

it incredibly is on as against except you have a close-by FSN, as they carry close by rights and get the printed rights first. hence VS is blacked out in Pittsburgh and all markets that get Fox activities Pittsburgh. by ability of ways NBC includes the weekend video games now no longer ABC.

Looks doubtful. It appears as though they will have them mostly on the Versus channel.
