Are all high school love interests passing fancies? Are high schoolers capable of love?

everyone is capable of love. some people find eachother in high school and end up getting married later in life.
love isn't limited to age.

Think the best way to treat them is like passing fancies from the off, then if they develop into more you will know for sure.
Guessing from you asking this question that you have not found true love yet, trust me when you do, you will know for sure! but becarefull there is a difference between fancying someone and likeing them as a person.
Love is when you not only love that person, but you love the person you are when you are with them.

Im a firm believer in real love.... But Ive got to be honest here. When it comes to high school love... I think its hard to tell whats real and whats not especially looking at it from an outside perspective. Its not so much that youre too young to be in love, its just all the pressures and images and stereotypes high school comes with, it just makes things a lot harder. Students feel as if their pressured to have a bf/gf... to be hooking up with someone...or dating... or having sex like the rest of their friends are. Im not completely disregarding the thought, Im just a little on edge as to how many relationships are actually based on real feelings.

I think so, it might be rare, but I do think it happens. My sister in law is married to her high school sweet heart after 30 years. I thought I was in love my senior year, married him, had a baby and then divorced all within 2 years. I fell out of love and it was so weird, it just hit me like a brick one day...

I found my first love in Hish School.... And we're getting married this year, after 6 years of dating. Im so happy!
