I'm trading Brian Fuentes and Nate Robertson for Ryan Zimmerman. I need a third baseman because i have chipper starting there, and it''s anybodys guess how he'll do this season.

Keep in mind that I have a deep pitching staff that includes Johan Santana, Matt Cain, Joe Nathan, Chien-Ming Wang, Cla Meredith, and Greg Maddux along with Fuentes and Robertson.

Did I do good????

Well, yes this is a decent trade. Giving up Fuentes may hurt your team in saves though. But, overall I would have done this trade too. Maybe you could trade Chipper for a RP. Look up teams that are weak in 3B.

Talent-wise it's a good trade. Zimmerman is being overlooked this year since he has no protection in the lineup, but he still will be a 20 home run, 10 steal 3rd baseman. Fuentes is good, but Robertson can easily be replaced by someone on the waiver wire.

That being said, do you have room for Zimmerman? It's a little early to trade for a backup. It's very early, and what if Chipper manages to play 150 games?

Oh yeah this is a great trade. He is over valueing a closer and Robertson is decent but not great. Zimmerman is a top 3b.

The worst thing that could happen is that Jones plays well and you can than trade either Zimm or Jones to someone for another closer or a Pitcher. (you also may want to look into maybe aquireing a closer. (tankersley, B Willson if benitez gets traded, Zumaya if jones fails, Torres, and who ever wins the Tampa Bay Job. (you dont need Meredith.)

hard to say Brian Fuentes is a much bigger loss than Nate Robertson will be but you are right chipper will get hurt again just like the last couple seasons, as long as you can get another OK pitcher/closer you will be fine

It's a good trade. You needed a 3b, and traded out of your depth at pitcher to get him. I think you may have overpaid a bit (robertson &fuentes may have been slightly too much), but it was okay, because you have better on your staff, and you needed that 3b.

I would have trouble giving up those saves and pitching stats, looksd like you went pitching too early and often. I would roll the dice on Chipper and look about picking up W. Betemit(LAD) off waivers. He will give u versatility and I expect a break out year for him. I vote BAD trade.

No way! Big mistake here. There are a few other 3rd basemen that are overlooked in drafts, Encarnation is the one that pops into my mind, but to give up a sure closer for a position with so much depth on waiver wire, not a good move by you here.

That was a pretty good trade, although I think that you should shop Chipper, now that you don't need him anymore, for a starter like one of the Boston guys in the middle of the rotation (Beckett/Matsusaka if you can get them). Good luck!

Except for Santana, your rotation isn't that great. You better swoop on Jered Weaver. Don't forget John Lackey, he's overlooked, but usually a leader in K's. Oh yeah, don't forget about the other Santana, Ervin. This is his year. GO ANAHEIM!!!

Zimmerman's a stud, but with little protection in the lineup. Considering the players you are offering, though, I'd say it's a smart trade.
