My roommate is making dinner for my best friend and I and we know its going to be terrible. We are willing to try it but if it doesnt turn out good. What do we say to not hurt her feeling but still get out before we all get sick? haha

I would just say "No, thanks" up front. It's pretty mean to have someone cook you a meal just so you can be rude about it.

Is she completely unaware that she has no cooking skills?

Really, you should just be polite, take a very small portion, pretend to eat, and thank her. Then go out to eat somewhere else. There's no reason to be cruel if you think she might be thin skinned about this.

Now if this were one of my buddies, I'd give him hell and we'd all have a damn good laugh. But most of my friends are pretty thick skinned and I know it wouldn't hurt their feelings to give them a little flack.

You should let that be your guide. You know your roomate, you know whether her feelings are going to be hurt or not... don't hurt her if you can help it.

why would you let her go to the trouble and expense cooking for you if you know how it's going to be? I don't think that's respectful to her..why risk a good relationship by telling her something that will hurt her and still allow her to cook?
why don't you just suggest a girl's night out and find a fun place to eat..it is fun and feelings will be spared..

Try to be optimistic that it won't be bad, if it is say that you appreciate her making dinner for you but you simply don't like it. WHY don't you get in there and HELP her? Then you can say whatever you want about the food.

you don't!! especially if you know the person. just try to suggest other possibilities. but don't hurt the persons feelings. again depends on who it is. do you eat their food all the time??? think about it. if you tried cooking and someone said it to you

Gosh that's tough. There probably isn't a way to not hurt her feelings. Just try it, make sure your portion is small and just try to eat it.

here is the polite way to break it to your roomate

" you did it great, but its just not my type of food..."

or if that doesnt work you can always try it the UNPOLITE way

" this food sucks...your a bad cook...( walk out of the room )

but i hate the UNPOLITE way. i prefer the nicer ( POLITE ) way.

* hope this helps...try practicing in front of a mirror.

If your friends cant tell you the truth then, who will.
He will respect you more if you just tell him...maybe that way he can improve his cooking

Christmas is over by the way
