Racism is a belief system or doctrine which postulates a hierarchy among various "human races" or ethnic groups. It may be based on a conception assuming inherent biological differences between different ethnic groups, which would be purported to determine cultural or individual behaviour. However, modern racism discourse may also coincide with contemporary scientific researches which have criticized former "scientific racism" discourses, popular until World War II and which claimed that the "race" was a biological and anthropological reality. Thus, they may, on some occasions, accept the cultural relativist viewpoint which criticize any attempt in hierarchizing various cultures among them, while continuing to support a racist discourse. However, instead of being based on a biological definition of race, this contemporary racism accepts cultural and historical differences, but claims they justify, at the minimum, separatism between various ethnics groups.

Racism may be described as a strong form of ethnocentrism, including traits such as xenophobia (fear and hate of foreigners), views against interracial relationships (anti-miscegenation), ethnic nationalism, and ethnic stereotypes. Racism has been a motivating factor in social discrimination, racial segregation, affirmative action and violence, spanning from hate speechs, pogroms and massacres, to genocides and ethnic cleansings. In a less dramatic manner, racial discrimination is also common, although illegal, in many states. Furthermore, distinctions of various ethnic groups may be instrumentalized by politicians who practice "race baiting" in an attempt to win votes.

The term "racist" has been a pejorative term since at least the 1940s, and the identification of a group or person as racist is often controversial.

I'm just a normal American white citizen, and I really get tired of all the racial and politically correct BS so just read the following rant.
__________________________

There are African Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, Arab Americans, Native Americans, etc. And then there are just Americans.

You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction. You Call me “White Boy,” “Cracker,” “Honkey,” “Whitey,” “Caveman” .. And that’s OK. But when I call you, ******, Kike, Towel head, Sand-******,
Camel Jockey, Beaner, ****, or Chink ... You call me a racist.
You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, So why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?
You have the United ***** College Fund. You have Martin Luther King Day. You have Black History Month. You have Cesar Chavez Day. You Have Yom Hashoah You have Ma’uled Al-Nabi You have the NAACP. You have BET.
If we had WET (White Entertainment Television) .. We’d be racists.
If we had a White Pride Day .. You would call us racists.
If we had White History Month . We’d be racists.
If we had any organization for only whites to “advance” OUR lives ..We’d be racists.
We have a Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, a Black Chamber of Commerce, and then we just have the plain Chamber of Commerce.
Wonder who pays for that?
If we had a college fund that only gave white students scholarships ... You know we’d be racists. There are over 60 openly proclaimed
Black Colleges in the US , yet if there were “White colleges” .... THAT would be a racist college.
In the Million Man March, you believed that you were marching For your race an rights. If we marched for our race and rights, You would call us racists. You are proud to be black, brown, yellow and orange, and you’re
Not afraid to announce it. But when we announce our white pride .. You call us racists.
You rob us, carjack us, and shoot at us. But, when a white police officer Shoots a black gang member or beats up a black drug-dealer running From the law and posing a threat to society .. You call him a racist. I am proud.
But, you call me a racist. Why is it that only whites can be racists?

I don't think being a minority makes you noble, victimized or privileged over others, especially those others more qualified for the job. I don't care if you do call me a racist, homophobe, or misogynist. I don't owe you ****, and will not be intimidated by you! I've never owned nor was a slave, I didn't wander forty years in the desert after getting released from Egypt. I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you so shut up, get an education, get qualified for a job and start being productive. I've worked hard all my life for what I have and damn sure am not giving it up to any welfare freeloaders. I will call you human and treat you with respect until your actions prove you otherwise. I treat all humans this way no matter what race they happen to be, and expect the same in return. If you've got a job, support your family, and pay taxes, you're a contributing member of our society. If not, you're a detriment to that society, a total waste to your species, and the scum of the Earth. Don't expect me to treat scum as human. If the shoe fits, wear it, It's your problem, not mine. Deal with it!

To me racism is thinking that your race is superior to others OR judging ALL people of a certain race before even meeting them (prejudice) and acting on it.

Racism is not accepting we are all human beings deserving of equal respect and freedom.
