Yes it can, I think Bill Clinton straightened out all the damage that Reagan/Bush did, and had the country going in the right direction when Bush stole the election and made a bigger mess. Might take the next president his/her whole term but it can be done.

Your vote will help, of course. There will be more damage done before 2008 is through, so it is hard to say how much damage will have to be undone. Some may never be undone because of the enactment in the first instance. In other words, for example, the National I.D. card that is going to be a law by 2008 will mandate that everyone in the U.S. have a government I.D. card. The idea was to protect our airlines from terrorists (who aren't supposed to have a national I.D.). The problem with this is that anything can be forged if you have the money, and Al Queda has the money. So it will make it more dangerous because anyone with a fake I.D. gets a free pass on board an airplane. Just one example of an act done more for political reasons than out of concern for the people. Other acts, such as the despoiling of our natural resources in favor of big money lobby interests, are also difficult to undo. You can't, for example, unpollute the skies or un-log old timber forests. These kinds of repairs will take a lot of time, maybe lifetimes. The hatred by many in the Middle East for the United States may take generations to mollify.
It's not all doom and gloom, however, especially if we have the hope of people that are concerned about civil rights and our Constitution voting for change.

The damage to the Consitution was started by Abraham Lincoln and the earliest Republicans who perverted the goals and intents of the Founding Fathers. That is when the growth of the federal government into an unruly monster supported by taxes and the war machine started.
Bush is just continuing that tradition of expanding the government and supporting American corporations at the expense of American citizens and foreign nations.

The constitution may not be damaged but the Supreme Court Justices that were appointed by him should continue to do their damage in interpreting it long after Bush is gone.

Do you honestly believe that the next candidate will be able to fix all this mess that we now find ourselves in?I mean our children's ,children will be paying off the deficit. We the people have allowed one after another to rule and make such trouble it seems almost impossible to recover, and who do we trust, congress, the so called politicians who say they have all the answers, please that's such a joke.I think we all feel the same, angry, sad , disillusioned, cheated, and more . Do we the people really have a choice? Or has it been made for us , because some men believe they know whats best and not the people.

By this question I assume you're referring to the Patriot Act. And if so, let me ask what harm there really is in the feds checking random e-mails to see if they contain plots against this country? The fact of the matter is that I just sent my dad an email in which I told him how school was going. Oh my God!! The government might have read that!!! What can I do to get my life back together!! Grow up and stop whining about one single thing because it's "cool" to do so.
Furthermore, by the way you've phrased your question, I can assume that you'd like to see a Democrat put into office. If that's the case, let me ask you about the number of ways these morons damage the Constitution. As I recall, we were able to bear arms and protect ourselves according to it, but not if Democrats get their way. As I recall, we were supposed to be allowed to engage in free enterprise in our own self-interest (which is in the best interest of society as well; that can be proven by economics), but not if the Democrats get their way. They'd rather have big government control every aspect of business and the economy. Not to mention these "Civil Rights" you speak of. What is closer to communism: a small or big government? The answer is obviously big government and that's exactly where this country is headed if Hillary or that idiot, Obama are elected. Get a clue sir before you ruin us all. I refuse to let your ignorance of reality screw things up for people that are smarter than you.

James, I think you're confusing Lincoln with FDR. It was the democrat FDR who led to the government becoming a huge monster supported by taxes. And as far as a large war machine. That began in World War II.
As far a perverting what the founders intended: I think the democrat support of slavery, jim crow, segregation and the actual rounding up of american citizens and placing them in concentration camps during WWII have been the biggest perversions that america has seen.

You're barking up the wrong tree. clinton did more damage to the Constitution and Bill of Rights since FDR did during WW II. One day you will realize the folly of your accusations.

Not just the current Admin, but the previous ones as well! I mean, come on! Congress granted itself the ability to levy taxes without any sort of redress?! "Taxation without representation" comes to mind, there.

There has been NO damage to our Constitution.
The Democrats have tried but Bush stopped them.
The only damage to the Constitution has been done by the Liberals on the Supreme Court, appointed by Carter & Clinton.
