In the book, around what years was he living? ANd did they have the gregorian calendar then or did they do some freaky thing with tthe Roman numerals? Also, what's a Greek food besides ambrosia and gyro and baklava that they ate back then?

Jesus, I know Oedipus wasn't alive! I mean what time did Sophocles write it about? Back then, how would you express the date?

Oedipus Rex is a fictional character from a greek play; therefore he was never "alive." If you want to find out about Greek food from the ancient period, you're going to have to go a little further than the menu at your local coney. And, no, they did not have the Gregorian calendar at that time, nor were the Greeks using Roman numerals.
