I haven't seen one in many years, but I never could keep it up (pardon the pun) when I played with one.

They were real good (and cheap) entertainment for kids. Somewhat akin to skipping ropes, elastics and basketballs.
I haven't used one for many years either; winds would blow, dogs would howl, trees would topple, sea-levels rise and general mayhem ensue if I were to try now (kidding, I'm not THAT big).
Oogly, know what else I loved, pogo sticks. How great were they?

Oh! I forgot about hula hoops! I could never use them around my waist, but I was really good at twirling them on my wrists, throwing them up in the air, and catching them on the other arm! My cousins and I used to play circus like that! lol!

yes as a much younger person I won a contest with the hula hoop it was a lot of fun at the time, and I could keep it up.

Ha, ha! Yeah I remember trying to get them going before and I never could hula hoop. Loved to watch other people do it though and my cousin was really good at it.

Oh yes they were all the rage when I was a kid. I was really good at it too. Could even spin one around my neck for quite a while and around my knees as well. I tried it one time at school (as a teacher a few years ago) when we did a theme week based on the 1950s and it was not a pretty sight -- lol. Needless to say,
I've lost my knack.

lol, check out local dollar tree. dollar general type stores. they some times have them during the summer. i was much better using a hula hoop on my arm then i was with my hips.

i see hula hoops all the time i have 7 nices & nephews & they own tuns of them but i never did could keep up with doin them haha lol

Hoola hoops don't work anymore. Fourty years ago they could go round and round and round and kept going around. Now, they go half way around and drop to the floor no matter how much I put into it. What could possibly be wrong with those toys? ;)

Yes I have played with a hola hoop. I wasn't real good at it but at least I tried.
