I can't really remember when they didn't like America, I am a liberal and I always liked America, I still do, I don't like the direction it has taken under Bush, but maybe the next president can get it straighted out like Clinton did. There is a lot to turn around though because this is the biggest mess I have ever seen.

I'm a liberal and I LOVE my country. I detest the current administration and the war we're in but every liberal I know still loves this country. We are counting the days until the next election.

I know plenty of liberals who love america....they do, however disagree with some of the current policies.
You can dislike your leader but you should always love your country.

We liberals are a very fragmented bunch and that is why we are so frustrated with this country. Liberals are not all the same, and I am a very different type of liberal than most. I consider myself liberal on social issues, and often conservative on fiscal issues, except for a few. Often times, this puts me in the area of a libertarian. I am for any possible freedom that you can possibly imagine unless it actually causes harm to another person. Usually, i am not for that big of a government, especially when it comes to being a major world player in things, like the war in Iraq. I think that the best way to combat terrorism is for the terrorists to be pissed off at someone else other than you. Dont get me wrong. We need defense, but if someone has a problem with me, id prefer to ask them why then fight them and try to work something out amicably. And if I think a terrorist group is against the United States for some stupid reason, I prefer to kill them, and then apologize for it rather than fight someone for 4 years. In general, I appose the initiation of force in almost anything. Global warming is a rare issue for me. I usually prefer to let the free market control everything, but as far as the Earth goes, people dont want to fix something that belongs to everyone and no one wants to take someone else's trash out. Its rare than an issue like this pops up that I think that government should control. Im a fan of the ACLU. Im for the legalization of most drugs. Im for internet gambling, and the freedom of religion, as long as you are not forcing others to pray. Im for teaching evolution, and if you so desire im for you teaching intelligent design as well. Im against almost all forms of sensorship, except speeches that are publicized plans of strategy for how to kill people. I dont think that people should mind other people's business, so no illegal wire taps. If you have a legit suspicion of something, get a warrant. I think that all the people who did those taps and knew about it should go to jail. The best way stop the terrorists is to let someone else piss them off. Why do you terrorists never have a problem with Switzerland? Anyway enough about me. I need to answer this question.
The problem that most liberals like myself have is that we disagree with each other. Take Hillary Clinton for example, she'll be in favor alternative energy and and a bunch of things that I want, then run as her major issue as being against flag burning. Most liberals just either arent liberal enough for me, or they want to do something dumb, like be against free trade. I often use this quote which I think expresses my frustration accurately, "What's the difference between a Rebublican and a Democrat?"
My answer: "If there was a vote in Congress for them to kill you for no particular reason, the Republicans would be for it. The Democrats would be against it, but then vote for it anyway because they dont want to seem like liberal cowards."
To say that you dont remember a time when liberals liked America, I dont remember a time when society enabled everyone to do everything that they wanted as long as it didnt hurt anyone. I hope this somewhat explains the liberals angst.

I remember when conservatives were a tiny minority whose angry and frustrated voices were only heard at 1600 on the AM band. Those were the days!

you mean like during the Truman days when there were communists in the White House?
Liberals only love other liberals. They foist themselves upon the rest of us as the Guardians of Free Speech, all the while creating the Thought Police of PC-ism to shout you down or shut you down if you anger them.
Govt is their God...Abortion is their Sacrifical Rite...Welfare is their Eternal Reward.

Are you talking about...
LIBERAL DEMOCRATS OR LIBERAL REPUBLICANS.
Because I, as the latter, definately still enjoy America a lot.
