In my experience, the ACLU has done far more to destroy independence among the people of this country than anything President Bush could ever do. When it comes right down to it, the ACLU is nothing more than a glorified lobby; why do they have so much authority over the government? And people tell me the oil companies have the government in a headlock.

The 'freedoms' of this country?!
The only groups the ACLU seem to have any interest in are terrorists, child rapists, cop killers and any other miscreant that threatens the well being of law-abiding citizens.
The ACLU is a huge part of the problem...and it provides none of the solution.
A once noble organization back in the days of civil rights, it has deteriorated into a mouthpiece for subversive ;leftist , and rabid secularists who wish to destroy the nation as we know it.

No. The ACLU does a lot a good (and some wasted effort) but they can only ask the courts to do the right thing.
The problem is, Bush is already ignoring the courts. He's ignored directives by the Supreme Court, and his lawyers regularly argue that the courts have no authority to review executive actions. So, there's really nothing anyone can in court do if Bush is just going to ignore what the federal courts say.

The ACLU is responsible for trampling the rights of the average person in this country to profess and live their faith without be harrassed on a daily basis, of allowing and encouraging hate groups to march and spew their venom to all corners of the country, and allowing NAMBLA to operate freely to prey on young children across the nation. Hell of a track record. If that is whats good for society and our country, we may never recover. They also don't like much of anything that actually has to do with protecting and defending the people of this country from terrorism. Gives ya a warm and fuzzy feelin don't it?

Sorry the lady yet you're incorrect. ACLU fights to maintain peoples rights regardless of what faith of perception human beings have. they do no longer discriminate against any faith. don't get me incorrect I even have my subject concerns with them, yet what they are attempting to do is save justice blind. it may't be your form of justice yet that would not count. in the event that they're going to have Christmas reflects at a central authority construction, the place Church and state are meant to be separate, then they could the two take them down or have reflects for different religions there. i've got by no ability thanked an ACLU attorney in particular by way of fact i do no longer understand one. i've got no longer had to ask for help from the ACLU.

The ACLU used to keep tabs on and smear anti-apartheid campaigners when Israel and South Africa were trading partners during apartheid. This was when the US was officially boycotting South Africa. I would be interested how anybody could put spin on this to make it in support of freedom?

ACLU? That's the group that defends child molestors (NAMBLA) right?
The same outfit who's Virginia leader was just jailed for possession of child pornography?
The same people who say it's unconstitutional to have the 10 Commandments in an Alabama courthouse?
Last hope allright. Last hope of anti-American idiots. I hope they all rot in h-e-l-l

The ACLU is a bigger blight on, and threat to, the United States than anything that Bush (or any other politican, come to think of it) can do.
