Use a good leather wax, or leather creme from a shoe store (or the shoe section at Walmart, etc.) -- or the spray stuff from Big-5 will do OK, too.

I never bake my gloves, I just wax them good, and put a softball in the sweet spot, then put a big rubber band around the outside. I leave it overnight, then I wax it again. Heating it up will speed up the process, I suppose.

Try the old fashion time tested way. Get some saddle soap...it looks like a shoe polish can. Saddle soap softens the leather. Rub it into the pocket or wherever you want to soften the glove. Stitches, fingers, wherever. Then what we used to do long ago and far away is place a ball where you want to break in a pocket. Get some tight elastic bands and wrap the glove so it's shut tight on the ball. Leave it under the bed all winter, changing the saddle soap every couple of days, and that thing will be a soft as a baby's butt before ya know it.

Honestly, the best way to purely break in a baseball glove is to continue using it. It breaks in to your perfect hand shape and all. Don't use oil or anything...

I always used to put a ball in the webbing and then tie it closed with a rubber band or string, then I'd put the glove between my mattress and box-spring for a couple of days...that always seemed to work for me. Nice glove, by the way...

Rub it with glove oil. Tie it around a baseball in the pocket.

Wal-mart should have some glove oil to break it in - follow the instructions. The ball and rubberband trick ....does help too.
Good Luck! Hope you catch'em all and knock'em home!

I used to oil a new one, put a baseball in the pocket and tie the glove around it snugly.

oil it and put a softball in it. Then wrap a rubber band around it in the shape you won't it. When practicing w/ it at first keep reshaping it w/ your hand so it keeps it form.
