My childhood bible was Gone With the Wind as I fancied myself to be Scarlett (big ego) and in college it was B.F. Skinner's Behaviorism books all together. Now my bible is a Bible. (But I don't carry it everywhere and randomly pick a page at every opportunity, as I did Gone With the Wind!!!) @8-)

Personally, I find the Bhagavad Gita to reveal as much or more about the human psyche than any other work. It is a wealth of knowledge about how to live, why we behave as we do, and what we should be doing differently to live a righteous life. Even though it is regarded by some as a religious work, and by others as a philosophical work, I think it is the most dynamic study of the psyche ever written.

"Beyond Feelings: A Guide to Critical Thinking" by Vincent Ryan Ruggiero.

Out of all my text books from uni, this is the one I return to over and over.

I love works by Albert Ellis and Aaron Beck, although I am starting to get more into Jung.

The closest to a bible that I have might be ''The hero of a thousand faces'' by Campbell. It is about how myths and rituals are related to our psychic life.
