I have neglected my household for about a year....I have been in chronic pain for many year;s and this past one has been harder than the other's. I do clean, of course, but just "on top" no thourough cleansing as one should. So I have started my spring cleaning....and in the kitchen, way back in the cabinet, where I keep pan's I haven't used in a long time, were these smallish spider's and there was a big one too. Not very big, but big enough. Thin brownish leg's and a round body. Not a daddy long legs and not the jumpy ones one sees every once in awhile. Are they dangerous? I sprayed them and they are dead, of course. But before I go any further, I'd like to know more....

I don't think it has an hourglass figure ' but it does kind of look like that recluse spider, now I'm really scared....I have this "thing" about them, like alot of people do, I'm sure. So, I guess they must be all over my aptartment, right? Anyone have that exp.?

You may indeed have many of them in your home. However, I really wouldn't worry at all. My wife has a thing about spiders too, and has me kill every one on sight, but the only spiders you really need to be aware of are black widows (these are the ones with the red hourglass) and brown recluses (brown, and have what looks like a VIOLIN near their head, not an hourglass), though neither of these will kill you, except if you are really old/young or very deathly ill (though if you are bitten, you do want to see a doctor for medication and the like).

The spiders are actually keeping the other bugs out of your home, and that is a good thing!! Just kill the ones you actually see, if it makes you feel better, or call Terminex.

Nothing to worry about!! :)

Hehe these are the spiders my nephew fondly dubbed the "shower spiders". They arent dangerous, and dont appear to be aggressive either. Definately my choice over a wolf spider. They tend to stay in one specific area, such as a cabinet, a shower and closets. However, if they are undisturbed long enough they become very huge!!! So beware ;-)
