I honestly don't think people are reading your question. I think if you want to see her figure, it will make her feel good for you to ask her to dress up now and then. There is nothing wrong for wanting your wife to flaunt what she's got....to a man it's a pride thing. A man wants to walk around with a beautiful woman on his arm and be able to hold his head high because he knows she's his wife. It has nothing to do with telling her how to dress, you are just suggesting she wear something nice.....what's the harm in that? If my husband said that to me, I would be flattered to know that he wants me to dress up. It just means he wants to show me off!

You re question is right on the line where black and white meet you know the Gray area... so to best answer this I will say that first of all there are a few key things to making a GOOD relationship work and affinity, reality ,and communication are just a few the one I think is relevant to this question is compromise and communication if you are having these types of questions there are more serious issues than what you or you're spouse wear . And my wife and I tell each other all the time weather or not we like what the other is wearing so if the wife doesn't care about the opinion of her husband and the husband doesn't like what the wife wears ... like I said bigger issues than that are at play and you both better get a handle on them and FAST before they cause bigger problems than what you wear bottom line WAKE UP and talk to one another about what is bothering you NOW!!!!!!

I think that this question should be answered on a case by case basis. My husband would never try to tell me what I could and couldn't wear, but at the same time, I would never wear something that had my A$$ hanging out of it. I would never do that because I have respect for myself and my family. In the same respect my husband always asks my opinion on his clothing and values my answer.

In other situations men or even women can try and force you to dress the way they want you to simply because they are trying to be controlling. In that siuation no this is not ok. Each individual has the right to dress the way the want and be an individual and as long as you are comfortable in what you are clothed in than, no one should have the right to tell you otherwise.

It depends on the things your wife wear, does it show lots of skin (cleavage especially), because if yes, then Yes, I think you should at least ask her to wear something that covers that area because men do stare at that and look at it more often than at the face. I always have like very minor arguments with b/f because of that, and am trying not to wear shirts that are transparent or have low cleavage, although those shirts are sort of the best ones. But I comprimise that because I know I ask him to do/not do lots of stuff too, so I want to make him happy.

But if your wife is wearing just the normal casual stuff and she is comfortable at it, I think you better buy her things that are her type of clothes, yet more sexy (in case you wanted it so).

No husband or wife has the right to tell their spouce what to wear. You might want to suggest to your wife that you would love it if she would dress up more. Perhaps you could even have theater tickets or reservations to a fancy restaurant. This way she won't be offended by thinking that you just aren't attracted to her anymore. Women tend to get our feelings hurt when suggestions are brought up about our apparrel. You might want to take her out shopping and ask her to pick out something special for a special occasion. That way, she won't think you are trying to turn her into someone she isn't. Thank you and good luck.

Yes, in some cases. Just like wives tell their husbands what to wear, and what not to wear. As long as it is done in the right manner. You don't want your other 1/2 to embarrass you, or themselves by the way they are dressed, and every one knows they have often seen someone and wondered, who let them out looking like that? Do they really think they look good?

No you don't have the right to TELL her or DEMAND what she wears but you can ASK...tell her that you would love to see her in something other than turtlenecks and khakis...How about this approach...get her a gift card to a local department store and tell her she can only have it if she purchases something more "alluring" than khakis and turtlnecks...then go with her and SHOW her what you'd like to see her in.

I do not think he has a right to tell her. He may want to act like a loving husband and make suggestions.
I had a shirt on one day that said" Heaven Doesn't Want Me And Hells Afraid I Will Take Over" He told me to go take that shirt off. I did, I came back out with one that said" PMS, Putting Up With Men's $hit". I think he was afraid to tell me to go change again. LOL

I think that they have every right to have an opinion, and to voice that opinion. There's a difference between saying what someone SHOULD wear, and what they WILL wear.

I believe a married woman should carry herself in a respectable manner, and dress a certain way (not running around half nude).. but SHE has to be the one who wants to do it.

Yes!!!
you can not dictate, but maybe buy her something.
Your wife is a reflection of you. The converse is true as well. Buy her something, or have a friend of hers suggest it. Women dress us and tell us what to dress as all of the time. Most of the time they are right!!!
