My mums side of the family is really dark, whereas on my dads side everyone is fair skinned. Sometimes I wonder whether we ever belonged to India to start off with. Can some explain why this could be? Some talk about Aryans and persians, but I need a little more insight. I'd appreciate if you know something.

abyssinia_7: I was born in the UK so I know little info about my family. I want to explore and find out who I am. I am sure there is nothing wrong with it right? I am a Jain and speak fluent Gujarati. I asked this question because Gujarati is a considered to be a Indo-Aryan language so I asked this question. I am just curious.

babs m: Thanks, but Jains don't believe in 'God'. I would have posted this question in the religious topic, but I want written proof. It will help for an essay too.
