Just got back my hp officejet 4215 all-in-one printer from repairs and plugged it in?

But it wont print. What should I do to make it print?. I am using an Dell computer and XP.

does it work and not print? maybe the ink is sealed or something

if it doesn't work at all, try to install the CD again

Printer problems can sometimes be a pain to diagnose.

First, make sure all the cables and the power cord are connected correctly and that the printer is turned on. (Yeah, I know it's obvious, but it's better to check the obvious first.)

You specifically said you just got your printer back from the repair shop; did you use another printer while the OfficeJet was in the shop? If so, it may be that the printer you used was designated as the new default printer. To check this, right click on the "Start" menu and select "Printers and Faxes" from the "Settings Menu" item. See if your OfficeJet is in the list of printers that comes up and has a little black circle with a checkmark in it (this is the way XP lets you know what the default printer is).

If the OfficeJet is in the list of printers, but there's no check mark next to it, right-click on the icon to bring up a menu and select "Set as default printer". The little black circle should now appear letting you know that the OfficeJet is your default printer.

If your OfficeJet is not in the list of printers, run the installation program that originally came with your printer, or download it from the HP Web site.
