My tampon keeps slipping out.. not all the way, but far enough out to where it is painful to sit or walk. I know that pushing it farther up would be the best solution, but I.. can't somehow. It hurts so go any farther in. What should I do?!

You are not inserting the tampon properly to begin with if this happens. You need to make sure that the tampon is at least past the ring of muscles at the entrance of your vagina by one knuckle length of your finger. This should prevent migration of the tampon. If you are having pain upon insertion of a tampon, perhaps it is time to have a visit with the gyn doctor to make sure that there is nothing else going on, like a cyst.
If you are reluctant to visit a doctor, perhaps switching to a smaller diameter tampon would help. OB tampons are smaller than most other varieties. However, they do not have an applicator, you have to insert them with your finger. Some women don't like touching themselves to do this, but if you aren't squeamish about it, they may feel more comfortable for you and be easier to insert because your fingers follow the natural curvature of your vagina better. Just read the instructions first.

try a different brand of tampon. I find the easiest to insert to be:
1) OB without an applicator. they are SUPER easy to insert and they're pretty little. You use your finger to push it inside you, basically a finger length in. These were the first tampons I was able to correctly insert, and I find they are the best at preventing leaks because of their shape.
2) playtex satin glide- these have plastic applicators that are pretty slippery so they slide in easily.

If these don't work for you I'd have a chat with the doc. A lot fo people opt not to use tampons for whatever reasons, but you should be physically ABLE to use them. if you can't something may be wrong. (or you may be just find and tampons just aren't going to be your thing.) good luck!

You need to try different kinds to find the one that fits you best. They come in all different shapes and sizes!

I have had the pain before but I just wiggled it around a little and it went in further... I don't know if there is a tech name for it(or what exactly it is, just know it is normal) but it seems like there is a little ledge in there that if the tampon gets caught on sometimes it hurts!
So try different sizes and try readjusting for a slightly different "direction" with it and you should be able to get it in, just don't force it!
If you continue to have issues bite the bullet and wear a pad or talk to your gyno about it!

You need to relax when you are placing a tampon in..... You should try the slim kind also. Just try to relax your muscles and try to place it as far as you can without hurting yourself. If your in pain, TAKE IT OUT! the best way for me is to sit on the toilet with my legs spread and RELAX...... nothing is going up in there if you are not RELAXED.

Good Luck!

do kegel exercises, your muscles might not be in shape down there, you can do them anywhere, at work in your car, etc. all you do is contract the muscles down there for a few seconds (they are the same muscles you use when you stop the flow of urine when you pee)and way u contract the muscles and the release and do it over and over again, it will help to strengthen your kegel muscles and should hold your tampons in place, if this doesnt wrok, switch to pads, hope it helps

have you tried using pads? if it hurts to use tampons then i suggest pads. but if you really want to use tampons then try buying a smaller size, or push it up a little more; i know it hurts, but that's all i can say. i hope my answer is helpful!!

You have to make a conscious effort to relax while you are putting it in. It makes a big difference. It's slipping out because it's not far enough in (but you know that).Again, just RELAX!

if it's just too uncomfortable to use (which it must be since you are not putting it in all the way), save yourself the soreness and pain and use the ultra thin leak protection pad by Always. they are lightweight and do not feel like a diaper, lol. there is no reason to torture yourself!

1) talk to your ob/gyn
2) Try a different kind of tampon - they are shaped different
3) try moving it side to side in a location where it won't hurt or slip
