I got married last month and because I didnt want to be on my period on our honeymoon, I stopped it by starting a new pack instead of taking the last week of pills (ortho tri cyclin). Well normally I would have started my period on the 16th or 17th. I dont feel pregnant (I am a mom so I know what it feels like) but at the same time it is worrying me because we are not financally ready yet. I have not taken a test yet because like I said I dont feel pregnant. I am just wondering since I messed with my cycle on the pill, would it have messed it up more than I thought?

I skipped my period purposely during February, and I am also on Ortho Tri Cyclen. I was a week late this month, but I still got it. I think you're fine.

Your cycle could just be screwed up because you stopped taking the pills. Or there is a possibility you could be pregnant. They say that anytime you stop taking BC or miss taking a pill or whatever, there is a possibility of pregnancy. About you not feeling pregnant- when I was pregnant with my son I didn't feel pregnant AT ALL. I had absolutely no symptoms. I didn't even believe the pregnancy tests! You should probably take a pregnancy test to ease your worries. Good luck. And congrats on your marriage!

If you simply skipped the "inactive" week of pills in your pack, and went straight to the next pack, you're fine, assuming that you took your pills consistently, of course. This is a pretty common practice when you need to skip a period. I used this method for a time when it became evident that I was getting migraine headaches when I had my period; my doctor had me take four packs in a row with no "inactive" week; that meant that I had a period only once every 13 weeks, which was great!

If you have taken your pills I don't think that you have much to worry about. However if you are still stressing out about your missed period you should take a test. Sometimes the stress of not knowing can affect your cycle, and by finding out if you are not pregnant can relieve the stress and your cycle may start.
