On the day of South Africa vs Netherlands Mark Bouncher made the record of the fastest fifty but yesterday New Zealand vs Canada it was broken

In South Africa's match last week Mark Boucher hit the World Cup's fastest ever 50 by doing it in 21 balls, today New Zealand's Brendon McCullum did it in 20, I think that's probably the shortest.

Another short record, lasting only a few hours, was the highest score in an ODI innings. Australia set 431 to break the record, South Africa came into bat and hit 436! Possibly the most exciting run chase ever. Australia's record lasted about 4 hours.

I do not think any world cup record has been broken soon after the record was set.

The highest individual score of a batsman in World Cup History is 183 runs scored by Garry Kristen of South Africa
against UAE in 1995/96 World Cup, which still remains in tact.

The best bowling figure in the world cup is 7 wickets for 15 runs by GD McGrath of Australia against Namibia at Potchefstroom in the World Cup, 2002/03 , which still remains in tact.

E.R. Fernando was dismissed for 4 on Saturday 7th June 1975 (Sri Lanka v West Indies) . This was the highest score by a batsman who was out in the World Cup until a few moments later his opening partner B. Warnapura was dismissed for 8 and then became the highest scorer.
