Somebody today said that love is never wrong.
How do you feel about that statement?

Well, I agree with what my Mother said; and since she has a marriage of 46 going on 47 years and my Partner and I have one of 26 going on 27 year, it must be about spot on....
"Love is never wrong but marriage is damned hard work"
Blessings.

Well, that's a bit broad and vague.
I mean, it's not "wrong" to love someone, it's not "wrong" for a man to love another man, or a man to love a child..but it's all in how a person EXPRESSES that love that might be wrong.

Children, Animals, Inanimate objects and the Dead cannot give informed consent to sexual expressions of love...so yes, those are indeed wrong.

But if it's two adult male human beings...no it's not wrong.
If it's two adult female human beings...it's not wrong
If it's two adult human beings of opposite genders...it's not wrong
If it's a transgendered adult human being with either a male or a female...it's not wrong

As long as BOTH adult human beings are consenting.

"I believe in love. Not just getting it, but giving it. I think that if you're able to love someone, even if they don't know it, even if they can't love you back, then it's worth it." - Sophie Thompson as Dorothy in Gosford Park (2001)

I think this sums it up. Love is never wrong. My loving a man who didn't love me was not wrong. It was right. Because the greatest gift you can give to another person is your love. Whether or not they accept it, return it, or are aware of it. I am a better man for having loved him.

Love is wrong if it is used to justify other bad behavior. Love is not some transcendant thing which exists in a vacuum.

Love is part of human relationships, and love must be accompanied by respect, kindness, and other essential qualities.

Love is good, but love is not enough.

silly, immature, and pointless. Of course "love is never wrong"...it is what you do with it that brings on the problems. IT would be naive to expect that someone who is used to money could marry a poor person and expect to have a good life...it ain't gonna happen. Love wanes, but personal needs remain.

Love is an emotion, so it is never wrong, but how you act on that emotion, the action can be wrong (ex. The physco NASA chick).

To me, I cannot imagine a scenario where love is wrong. I can see many situations where it can be unfortunate, inopportune, but wrong, never. It can cause us to do things that might be wrong.

Now, there are things that can masquerade as love, LUST in particular, and that can be wrong!

Maybe love is never wrong in itself, but doing things that are illegal, immoral or dangerous in the name of love is.

Love can be wonderful and it can hurt like hell. Right and wrong are a judgement so one mans right can be another mans wrong.
