I think I know what you're asking. Dial up is Dial up. Only as fast as your phone line and modem. I just bought a new Computer two weeks ago. Top of the line HP Pavilion, but it's still slow and will always be slow because I'm too cheap to go to High Speed connection (Road Runner, Satellite).
So either spend the money or forever wait for downloads.

there is no difference in speed with dial up connections.the max is 56k but depending on where you live it may be slower do to distance between you and your server and conditions of the phone lines.your only real option with dial up is how much you pay,Anywhere from $5 a month to almost $25 a month...good luck

netscape worked good 6.95 per mo for first year.. let's you use with out their software after setup you can delete their software.. and just use
username@netscape.com
and password

aol is over priced internet with training wheels no insult intended to previous answer..

netzero is an absolute ripoff!!!
ask anyone who has had them why they hook you up with multiple accounts and you have t o change bank account to get rid of them ..You can't use unless there memory robbing software is installed ..Most any other company will let you log on with just username@their.com
and password

people pc is OK but not great.. they will let you log on without their software being on or did the last time I had them.

It took forever to get ATT to stop charging even though I only used their service for one day THIEVES

but as others have wirtten if you can get high speed you'll be happier and so much faster you'll really like it..

They are all really the same speed, despite any claims to the contrary. The most important factor is your phone line and perhaps your modem.
I use ISP.com. They are cheap and have more dialup numbers in the US and Canada than any other dialup isp, including aol etc. I have used them for several years with NO problems.

AOL is very good and fast. In fact they have a plan that they don't really mention. You can receive their service for 1 year for 17.95 a month. You get on-line customer service for anything you might need (technical or billing or whatever) spy-ware protection, parental control, multiple accounts, computer check ups, spam controls and virus controls. But you do have to ask for that plan cause they won't mention it to you.

There all pretty much them same 1 pence a minute,as for the fastest,Internet speed depends on how close you are to the telephone exchange, the closer you are the faster the speed.

AOL isn't as good as they say they are. there is no such thing as fast dial-up. the programs they use to speed it up doesn't make it faster but only store the web page you look at the most on the isp's servers. netzero isn't bad and earthlink is pretty good also.
