Well, I personally support legal immigrants. But the thing is- with these tech companies, they want to import as many immigrants from as many sources as possible, if they know anything about a computer. That way they can pay Americans who have gone to school and gotten a technical degree as little money as possible. Its not just Gates, its all of the Technical companies. That makes me angry, as I think it makes it so that Americans wont want to study anything technical anymore (why study it if it does not pay well and its hard to get jobs), so I think this stance is undermining the US's ability to compete in the technical world stage in the future. Do we really want to outsource the development of our next generation of military weapons, for example, to foreign nationals? Because that is the direction we are headed in.

A good time to dump the stock would have been early April, 2000!

Sure, sell it if it makes you feel better. Does the fact of his opinion have bearing on the stock value? Nope.

Does it upset you so much that you would sell it? Apparently.

Fact is, there are a lot of companies that have policies which are not "green" or even "good for humanity," but they pay dividends every quarter. There are plenty of "socially conscious" mutual funds now- go buy em'.

Would you not benefit by buying shares in a military provisions company? How about Wal-mart? Did you know they contribute millions of dollars every year to the Republican party? Does that sit well with you? How about Amazon.com? They are a heavy political supporter. Do you shop with them?

I make most of my stock ownership decisions based on a company's financially outlook, since that is what typically drives the price up or down.

If you wish to make your buy & sell decisions on some factor that has no influence whatsoever on the stock's price, that is your right!

Good luck with that!

Bill Gates goes into foreign countries and recruits the finest minds of each. He doesn't go to the emergency rooms in the US and wait behind no-insurance beaners with a cold like the rest of America has to.

I have no problem with immigrants that are willing to go through the process legally to become a citizen of this country. The problem, I have is with all the illegal immigrants. The illegal one ones need to be rounded up and deported or put in jail. Yes, illegals do jobs in this country that people of this country are to lazy to do or are not willing to do. Because, they are lazy!!!!!!!!!!

As for the stock, I would keep it.
