How do i get my videos from my camcorder onto the computer?i just bought a camcorder because i wanted to shoot footage and make movies (i'm 15, not some pro) this is the camera i got:

i have everything in came with and miniDV tapes.
please help, this camera does me no good if i can't get the videos i shoot onto windows movie maker. i hooked the cable up but nothing happened. the users manual only says how to transfer pictures to the computer. i think i need a card. can i transfer stuff if i use a tape?thanks!!!!

some guy said i needed fire wire. what is that? how much does it cost?where can i get it?where can i find a picture of it? and how does it work?thanks again!!!!!

First, go repost this question in the tech section. You'll get a perfect answer. Also post the make and model of your camcorder.
Second, Firewire is like USB--it is a connection interface between your camera and your pc (sometimes called IDB-1394). See if your camera has a jack for it (with a small Y looking logo) and then make sure your PC has a Firewire port (it looks different than a USB port). If both have a firewire port, connect a firewire cable between them and get a program capable of downloading the clips.

lol ok well number one lol i think u should re-post this in the tech area lol cuz thats where the nerds porbably hang out lol.
and u could proably like "rent" some pple from the best buy and those places like "the geek squad" i think it is. like there real pple who will come to ur house and showthings to u about electronics and stuff.
