You could have it at a restaurant, which I dont really like to do- too formal and confining. Or -which I do, have it at home (during spring or summer preferably - so guests can go outside.) and have a magician or something for all the kids there. You can cater from an italian deli or a catering place and its casual, informal and fun for everyone. Or you could do that same at a nice park

Invite friends, family and neighbors. Have a light buffet laid out on the kitchen counter . Don't display food, drinks etc on tables, then people won't have any place to sit. The buffet could include peperoni rolls, cut up mixed fruit, if you want lunch meats and cheeses; either rolled up with a tooth pic or serve sandwich makings, like croissants mayo, mustard pickles. I could go on; the ideas are endless. It depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you have, to put in to it. By all means get a cake, decorated for Christening and of course, ice cream.
HAVE FUN!!

What we do in my fam. is flow to someones abode and have a huge dinner. Serve some drinks, and then have a christening cake (like quite a few different cake purely adorned for a christening) no we don’t blow any candles…lol. That’s incredibly plenty it. extra often than not purely solid nutrition, family individuals, and communique.

I made fabric patches and set them out with permanent markers. Everyone wrote a little sentiment on them and I took them to a quilter and had blanket made for her to remember the day! It hangs above her crib still.
For a party, when we had my daughter's, it was a family event. Everyone came over and we all prayed together. Afterwards we ate snack food I'd prepared. All the kids went and played together.
Good Luck!
