You see, my parents migrated from mexico to california....and about a year later i was born. i have never been to mexico, but its like i was raised in mexico because i speak spanish just as well as a person born in mexico and they raised me with mexican culture. but the thing is,,,, some mexicans think im no longer "pure" mexican just because i was born and raised in america and that hurts a bit...it makes me feel exempted. i dont understand why some people think im not mexican because ALL my family is from there. i dont think im different from any other mexican person!!!

Hun, you're whatever you feel like being. If you are proud of being Mexican and think you are Mexican, then you are. I mean, your parents are from there, you speak Spanish, ...what else do they need.

put it this way,,,, a cat gives birth in a dog house, are the kitties dogs now????????????? but seriously man you shouldnt even worry about what you are, you are who you are regardless of anything, so you should worry about being a better person, successful in aspects at the end that's all that matters (by the way I'm in the same situation, and i say I'm Mexican, to an American you still look Mexican, so just say you are Mexican)

I think people have lost the ability to recognise their roots. If your parents are both Mexican then you are Mexican. Who that lives in America is really American? I was born in wales & raised in london, my parents are african-caribbean, my skin is black. surely common sense tells me I am not welsh/english... p.s, Nationality is the country you are a citizen of.

Mexican

(I am in the same boat, born in Canada to British parents, but, at the end of the day, I'm still British)

You are a Mexican, no doubt, but your education is American and therefore so will be many of your attitudes to the world/life etc. You *are* one of them, but you peobably don't think like them.

BTW, what is pure Mexican - or pure anything for that matter?

Best of luck!
