I have a best friend - but we don't even tell people that - we just say we're sisters. It's always been like that. She is the only "family" I have. I was living w/her parents & she moved away for college. However, I still lived w/her parents & worked full time. I noticed, slowly, that she wasn't talking to me as much. I thought it was because she was busy w/school, but then she stopped Totally! I moved out of her 'rents house because of a job. As I was moving, I lost my cell. I had a prepaid one & called my other phone to see if it was in the car. TOTALLY ON ACCIDENT, I called her-Our #'s are similar. For the first time in nearly two months, she answered. My guess is because she didn't recognize the #. I asked if we were "ok". She said, "... Yeah". I said, "You're not doing a good job of convincing me" & she said, "Well, I have something to discuss with you." She said she'd email me that week & I haven't heard from her. We talked for about 10 min, though like nothing was weird. ideas?

All i will tell you is that maybe you somehow crossed a sacred border. No matter how close you are with someone, you should always know your limits and respect theirs.Familiarity [sometimes] brings contempt!

I hope she doesn't feel you are snatching her parents[or someone close] from her.If so,remember they are hers, she doesn't have to say it.

Maybe she just feels awkward that you're still living with her parents while she's off to college, even though you're like sisters. Don't keep pestering her, but if it keeps on bugging you ask her one more time if everything's alright, if she needs to talk about anything. Just casually say, "I haven't had a chance to talk to you in a while. How is everything?" Then you can lead into what you really want to discuss with her (why she's not really talking to you anymore.) Maybe she's made new friends in college, and if you don't keep in contact you will drift apart, no matter how close you were in the past. Try to work up a connection with her again and see where things go. GL!
