Actually, wolves Don't eat pure meat. They eat entire animals, which includes intenstinal contents (whatever the prey ate before it became prey), organs, and bones.

Wolves frequently eat rabbits and mice. Rabbits and mice have grass, seeds, and other forage in their guts. So, the wolves get a well rounded diet naturally. Just plain meat would not be healthy. Plus, they eat bones and all, which provides calcium and minerals.

Could YOU live on just bread or tofu for the rest of Your life? No. Neither can a dog.

Along with chocolate dogs can not eat grapes, raisins, uncooked potatos and I would not give a dog fish. Yes you could just feed your dog pure cooked meat for the rest of his life but studies have shown that dogs do best eating "dog" food. Ask your vet before making any major changes in your dogs diet.

Well you COULD feed your dog this but it wouldn't be good for him at all and he probably wouldn't live a safe healthy long and happy life. Domesticated dogs usually eat only dog food with the occasional piece of some deli meat, other things aren't too good for them. Domesticated dogs aren't used to having to break down meat and other things within their digestive systems and would probably have to SLOWLY get used to an all meat diet, since they probably have been fed dog food since birth.

-- A wild dog would hunt, probably eating rabbits, fish, large birds, and other forest dwelling mammals-- as they are carnivorous you wouldn't find them munching on moss or grasses....

However there is a big difference between domesticated and wild dogs and you have to keep that in mind.

You shouldn't give a dog pure meat or tofu for the rest of its life. You need to give it some dog food and other nutrients.

You can feed them a diet of organ meat, muscle meat, marrow, and strained veggies.

In the wild, they are opportunistic and will eat veggies and meat, but they don't get much nutrition from veggies because they don't have the teeth to grind them and get out the nutrients.

They would not survive off tofu or bread for life, there is no nutrition.

Technically, they can eat most anything (NO CHOCOLATE). But dog food companies have put tons of time and money into formulating food so that the animals will thrive. They get the combination correct to help the dog live a happier, healthier, longer life.

I only feed my dog Pedigree (with the occassional hot dog for a treat). Despite the fact that dogs will eat most anything, they need to be given a balanced diet to stay healthy.

They can but dogs are carnavores so meat is appropriate to the diet they're used to if they were wild, but yes they can eat just about everything except chocolate.
