You can vote, pay taxes, go to jail for adult crimes, get arrested for consuming liquor, and a myriad of other things that will only make your hair turn white.

You should be responsible to get your self a job.
Save at least $1000 cash or bank account for deposits and cleaning charge, phone and utility
Buy your self some appliances, toaster, coffee maker, M/W,
kitchen wear, blankets, pillows,TV ,--etc
locate an apartment (remember location close to work with public transportation unless you have a car).
No more than 1/3 your take home pay.
pack and box your possessions
move away from home
Now sitting on the floor of your apartment Keep of list of things you need to make you new life comfortable

By law you are an adult and don't really need your parents.
BUT :: do not burn bridges
Spend at least 2 days a month to invite mom &dad to dinner.

You may choose to do all or any of those things without your parent's permission or consent. However, why would you not want to inform them of your actions or intentions? Ashamed?

Along with the freedoms also follows the responsibility for your actions. Be sure that you are prepared to act responsibly and know that you will now be held accountable.

You can get on birth control unless they take you to the Dr, because they pay for your insurance still. You can get an abortion without them. The morning after pill is not sold in most states and only given in hospitals if you were raped. You are able to get married and travel out of state with adults without it being considered kidnapping.

You are an adult. You can do pretty much anything without your parents permission. It gets a bit tricky if you still live at home though because they can hold things over your head. Legally speaking, you have many more rights.

You are also responsible for paying your own bills, getting health insurance, paying your taxes, contributing to society, making something of yourself, making your own decisions, and paying the consequences of those decisions. Good luck and best wishes. Being a grown up can really suck sometimes.
