It's constantly changing.

Right now, it's (1) finding a way to end the war in Iraq while minimizing the damage, (2) finding a way to not only stop the political polarization that is tearing our country apart but to unite the people in spite of the differences in the way they think, and (3) figure out what's going on with Social Security, because I've been paying into it for half my life and it'll be gone by the time I need it. And that's not acceptable.

I am not a Democrat, but I will respond anyway.

1. Energy policy: This is the most important issue we will have to deal with in the next ten to twenty years. Our fossil fuel based economy will have to change to some other source of energy. Coal, Oil, and natural gas are all non-renewable resources that will eventually run out. We need to come up with new ways to generate electricity, power our transportation, and heat our homes or we will be in a world of hurt in about twenty-five to fifty years. Notice: I say nothing about global warming, greenhouse gases, or the environment, which should also be a major consideration here.

2. Education: This is the key to our future. We need a bright, intelligent, and well-educated workforce to compete in the global marketplace. If the United States does not get better at teaching students to do math and science, you will see a lot of high paying jobs go to Asia and Europe. We need to rethink our education system and do better in the areas of math and science.

3. Health Care: We need to find a way to lower the cost of health care for the average American. I do not believe that a system of Universal Health Care paid for by the Federal government is the right solution to this problem because it only changes how we pay for health care, not the cost of health care. Some ways to possibly lower the cost of health care: tort reform, banning or limiting TV and radio ads for prescription drugs, providing more research dollars for drug and medical research, and encouraging businesses to provide health care to their employees.
