Ice pack on the shot spot helps the swelling but i found my son hated the cold on his arm. Children's Advil helps better then Tylenol because not only is it a pain reliver but it also is an anti-inflamitory and will help to take down the swelling causing the pain.

aside from Tylenol and a hug there isn't much else you can do. Maybe something cool on where your infant recieved the shot. If the reactions get severe I would contact your doctor AND take him to the emergency room. Infants can have bad reactions to shots (especially if they are allergic to eggs)

And also you are allowed to report even mild reactions to VAERS http://vaers.hhs.gov
vacines are legally not allowwed to betested on infants (it is considered inhumane to test on infants) so they do not fully know the effects they will have oon infants. The ONLY way the government and medical idustry knows how vaccines effect infants is from reports from doctors and parents. So do your part and report that yes your child had a reaction so they can get an accurate idea of how many children really have reactions (even mild) to vaccines.

I gave my child Tylenol Infant Drops and it helped. She'll only take the cherry kind. If I try to give her a different flavor she'll scream her head off and spit it out.

Put a cold cloth on his leg or legs where he got the shots. Also massage his legs. I know it makes u want to take the pain.

Tylenol is good but usually at this time they just want to be snuggled close to you for comfort. Only time heals all wounds:-)

I think your doing everything you need mom. My daughter went through the same thing and cried for 3 hours straight...it broke my heart so much I cried with her. Just hang in there and he'll feel better soon.

If he is swollen at the shot site, and nice ice pack is soothing. Other than that, not too much you can do. Both my kids had irritation at one time or another, it will clear up.

just comfort him as much as possible! you could rub around it to make it feel better or use an ice pack covered in a washcloth (so it wont be so cold on his leg)!..
