Yes, it's illegal for you to work but firstly, I have to say I admire the fact that you want to get out there and EARN some money. It says a lot for your self respect and future work ethic. There are so many ADULTS out there who feel sick at the thought of it and just scrounge off everyone else, so well done you.
Secondly, a paper round. BUT to get around the "illegal work" aspect.....here are a few "favours" or "sponsored" things you could do......
Put a few flyers through your neighbours' doors re:
- washing their cars (you can state a price)
- cleaning out their wheely bins (I desperately needed this and just by accident found a young lad on school hols doing exactly that. Well, actually, he was just seen out on the pavement doing it for his parents and so many neighbours approached him asking how much?! When I did, he said £1 but I offered him £3.50 IF he would not just clean it, but wheel it back to my house (at least 25 yards away). I just liked his attitude and wanted to encourage him!
- have you thought of combining your acting club with something you could do. A lot of them, when they put on shows, just want people to sell tickets, be on the doors, pour out the teas and coffees on show night, put flyers through doors etc.....
- USE your extended family !!! Your parents might see this as chores you're expected to do as part of your pocket money, but your aunts/uncles/grandparents don't! Volunteer to do other things at a set price....such as mowing their lawn, digging up weeds, walking the dog, washing up, sweeping up leaves, help them strip wallpaper off......think of anything they wouldn't normally want to do themselves.
- Get in touch with your local newspaper, see if they need any "youth opinions" on anything and ask for a minimum fee but tell them why (ie to put towards your local acting club)
- Ask your acting club is there anything you can legally do that would substitute you paying fees to them (a bit like before but getting it on a firmer footing
- agree with your parents if you can, to sell stuff for you on ebay/car boot sales/local advertising?
- suggest your question to someone you trust at school and see if the school can come up with an answer that benefits both them and you!
Good luck...if you were around my area....I've got loads of things (all legal) that you could do that I'd be quite happy to "sponsor" you for or just "gift" some money to you!

I worked at a video store when I was 14. But I don't live in England so this might not help you. It was pretty good money at the time (about 6 years ago).
