What kind of microwave costs $190. I got a new one for less than $100. You only need a new plate. I would try getting it off the freezing is a good idea. Soak in boiling water it way soften the plastic and can be scraped off. I can't say who is at fault but accidents happen and the school should realize it was not intentional. If it did end up that it needs to be replaced the school is at least partly responsible.

That was an expensive mistake to make.

$190 seems a lot to pay for a new turntable plate, it might be possible to buy a new m/w for less

Once the plastic cools it will peel right off of there and you can wash it and it will be fine.

$190 that is ridiculous, you can go to the thrift store and get a replacement plate for maybe a few dollars.

I can suggest you put the plate in the freezer, for a short time. Then with a blunt knife it should come off , or try putting it in the oven so it melts again then wipe it off

that suks! get yoiur friend to confess to the principal. but i don't want your friend be labeled a snitch...
tell anyways. that was pretty expensive, and your friend shouldn't have to pay for someone's else's actions.

It seems to me that is THEIR fault. They told your friend to put in in there so it's their fault for telling him to do so. He shouldn't have to pay a thing in my opinion!
