My sims 2 CD 4 is scratched, any way in the world i can fix it by making a backup, or manual install?

I dont wanna pay for one of them professional cleaning kits or stupid ways of using toothpaste, cause the top part of the CD is scratched to. where can i download a cracked version for free of the cd 4 cause i own the game so i wont be ilegal.

Those kits you buy at stores that you spin the disc really dont help and generally do more harm than good. I suggest you take it to a local video or used game store like a Game X Change (where I work) and see if they will do it for you on their professional machine for a small fee...at our store we charge 3 dollars and have a pretty high (98 percent) success rating with them.
