So, as a resident of Iowa, I am watching other states bump up their primary dates one by one. Pretty soon, if this keeps up, Primaries for 2012 will be 2 weeks after 2008 elections. Why don't we have a lottery to determine when states get to have their primaries? That way every state has a chance at having the politicians stomp there as well as get the campaign money?

Excellent idea.

It's ridiculous to keep allowing the same few states to dictate which candidates will still be on the ballot when it gets to my state.

Just because a candidate doesn't do well in the first few states doesn't mean that he doesn't have a following elsewhere.

It really caters to the politician with the most money who can keep going even if the votes aren't there at first.

Sounds like a good idea to me.
