I live with my boyfriend and another guy roommate (he's never around). I am the only one that cleans and I have to force my bf to help me. How do you all do it? Hand out a treat/reward if they help?

The excuses I hear are him saying the he "works". Like it excuses him or something, I pay my share of the bills.

Cheating on him would be a subtle way of saying 'you should help around the house more or I'll cheat on you with another woman and film it.' A better course would be to remind him constantly that he's not doing anything until he starts cheating on you with the maid he hired to appease you.

Well you could use a shotgun.. but thats illegal.. and it wouldnt work for long anyway... Teach you to live with 2 guys LOL.. (one isnt much better hehehe)
My rule has always been in this.. if it bothers you that much.. shut up and clean it up.. if it bothers me that much I'll shut up and clean it up (Oh and dont think I havent run into more than one girl that makes me look like a clean freak.. which i'm certainly not LOL)
The cut off the sex bit above is a silly idea.. you cut it off we'll just go elsewhere.. no biggy.. there are 3 of you for every 1 of us ya know... and if all else fails theres always going gay... HA! (that is just to point out that using sex as a weapon almost NEVER works.. but it can backfire big time)

How about a schedule...like you wash and dry clothes, he has to put out ALL of the garbage and but the cans out on garbage pick up day(that means he empties all of the trash cans in the house when they need emptying). If you cook and do dishes he has to dry and pick them up. or if he mows the grass and weedeats you'll mop and dust, set up a shareing the chores schedule. If he refuses then don't wash his clothes, cook his meals or clean. NEVER pick up after him. That is a cardinal rule...leave it where he puts it he'll get the hint. Good Luck, remind him you ARE NOT his mama!

Defintely set your house rules up.I did. Mine is a plaque I bought but you can defintely Make your own poster on the computer or if your artistic by hand. Put this in a very obvious place the fridge or in the bathroom. That way you know it is read by all who visit or live there.
Here is the one I have:
Rules of the house:If you sleep on it ..Make it up.If you wear it..Hang it up.If you drop it..Pick it up.If you spill it..Wipe it up.If you open it..Close it.If it rings.. answer it.If it howls..feed it.If it cries..love it.
P.S.
or as my Mom used to say about bugs . Show them whose boss!
or my husbands tried and true method put all their stuff where they live exp. their bed.

You can't 'force' them to do anything......well, I guess you could force them into a few things, but they like THOSE!
Hubby and I have an agreement that he keeps our cars clean and running properly, and keeps the yard looking good and I keep the house and our clothes clean. We share the cooking, though.
It's so much fun being married!!!

That's rewarding, not forcing, which is better. Cut him off and tell him he gets sex in ratio to the housework he does.
