Some people speak without knowing the facts. It is disturbing to say the least. Yes, Edwards is continuing the race at the request of his wife. She is a true American, unselfish and brave in the face of adversity.

Mr. and Mrs. Edwards seem like a strong supportive couple. I don't see the word "quit" applying to them very often. I do not support Edwards for President but if he does get the nomination he will be a distingushed President.

I agree. I speak as the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, so the issue hits VERY close to home for me.
If I were Elizabeth Edwards, and I truly believed that my husband could make a difference if elected President of the United States, then regardless of my health, I would want him to run. And if I was the husband of a woman in her position, a woman who asked me to continue to run for President anyway... I'd honor her wishes.
Anyone who is second-guessing this decision they made together is just a repulsive, disgusting pig.

Yes, definitely. And we don't hear her coming on media to whine or taunt the American People with tears and plea. She has been strong and brave throughout the years of her crisis and has shown support to her husband's political campaigning. Elizabeth is a good and strong woman... her courage and strengh are qualities that are very admirable.

I hope people are going to vote for the person running, not their spouse...if that would have been true Billy Bob never would have been elected...A brave American woman is the woman who supports her husband while he is fighting a war, not on the campaign trail sleeping a 5 Star Hotel every night...

Rarely are the actions of real people that 2-dimensional, but yes, voluntarily living under a microscope while battling cancer is a brave thing to do.

Is she brave? What I saw looked like a woman being strong armed by her ambulance chaser, politics first husband. I guess the kiddies out there do not realize the physical toll campaigns take on the entire family. This is proof that Edwards cares more about politics than family. Am I surprised? Of course not, I would expect nothing less from a former ambulance chaser.

Edwards needs to be at home with her right now to be the support she needs and to help her thru this. She isn't going to be able to travel with him due to treatments and what if God forbid, it turns worse? I mean come on- put his champaing on the back burner and be there for her!!! It makes him look like his goals are more important than her!!

For anyone who has faced illness or disabillity in the family, you ALWAYS carry on with life as usual (as best you can) in order to support that person. You NEVER give up or assume the worst. They deserve much more respect than this.
EDIT: that's funny the guy below me says that campaigns are hard, like he isn't one of the reasons why...

Maybe she is unselfish... but I think it's a waste. They would both be better off taking care of each other. I think he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell to the presidency, so why waste all the money and time?

Maybe she knows he would blame her if she asked him to stop. I hope she gets well, but I don't hope he gets elected.
