I am on the combined pill and I am due to start a new pack on Monday but I can't get a docs appointment until Wed and I've ran out. What should I do? When should I start the new pack? I know I should have been to the docs before now but due to work etc I've not been able to. I hang my head in shame

You shouldn't leave it longer than the normal 7 day break. Otherwise, you will loose the protection. You will then have to use some other form of contraception for around a month until your full pill protection is restored. Or get yourself over to your local family planning clinic - they usually have walk in sessions most days where you don't need an appointment. You can register there and then. I usually do that when I can't get a doc's appointment in time.

Call and ask for an Rx to be called over to your pharmacy for 1 month.

If they can't or won't then you probably have 2 options: you just skip this month, take your pills when you start your period again, and use backup protection till then, or you might be able to start your pack the following Sunday and just use backup for the week till after you've taken the pill for 7 days.

Check with your doctor's office either way. They'll be able to figure it out for you.

Call the Dr's office and tell them you need another pack.....they can either give you one of their samples or call in a script. If they know they will be seeing you on Wed. it won't be an issue.

I agree, they should have no problem giving you a sample pack for this month. My dr. has done this for me before!
