I recently installed a deep kitchen sink. The garbage disposer fits below the sink. Using a standard trap gives me an outlet that is lower than the dreain pipe. Can I instead use a special trap that has an outlet higher than its inlet?

Based on the info you provided there are several options. 1) If the elbow on the disposal is what is preventing you from installing the trap AND the outlet of the disposal is above the inlet of the pipe, you can cut the elbow to a point that you can attach the inlet of the trap.
2) If you have plastic pipe you can cut into the wall and lower the tee the drain pipe dumps into. This may be difficult to access and is not always doable if the tee is located beyond the confines of the of the cabinet. 2 fernco couplings and a short piece of pipe is all you need. This is the best solution.
3) If you can do without a disposal you can change it to a strainer and use a flanged tailpiece to drop into the trap but you would have to lengthen your drain pipe coming from the wall.
4) There are short pattern traps that do not have a rise where the waste tube drops in, only a nut about the same height on the inlet as the outlet. This could be used IF the disposal outlet is higher than the drain inlet. They are not as secure as a regular trap and, being attached to a disposal, will need to be checked often because of the vibration. They can be found at most plumbing supply stores.
5) The ideal fix is either 1 or 2 above. If none of these options will work, singly or in combination, then you don't have much choice but to put in a shallower sink. The outlet must be higher than the drain inlet or your disposal will always have waste in it - a totally unacceptable scenario.

turn the U part of the trap around, this will gain you an inch or two. connect the piece that goes to the drain to the tall side of the trap. cut the disposal discharge to make up the rest if you have to. use teflon tape where you join the 2 pieces together. It will perform the same duty but the trap weir will just be deeper. I've run into this problem once or twice........

Try different traps. Ants go through food phases depending on what's going on at the nest.... when they want sugar, only sugar will do, but when they want protein/grease they will ignore sugar entirely. Specifically look for traps that say they have more than one type of bait. If you cannot find those, buy a few different types.

In a word, no.

Water does not flow uphill. It will only drain to the level of the highest point of the outlet pipe.

yes but there is a giant but larger than the one attached to me!

you may after a bit of time accumulate sediment & junk & have to snake it perodically.... if you drain a sink of warm soapy water with disposal on this may keep it clean!

the sink is higher than the outlet it will drain to a point & may suction the rest if your vent is not so good
