Some folks are answering the question "will the Mavs win 70 games?" as opposed to "CAN the Mavs win 70".

The answer is easy: Yes, they *can*. At 56-11, two 7-game win streaks, or a 6- and 8-game streak, is not out of the realm of possibility.

Now, the thing is, yes the Mavs will be resting players down the stretch, but so will some of the teams they will be facing. The Mavs will soon be locked into the #1 seed just as Phoenix will be at #2, the Spurs at #3, and and Utah at #4.

They will definitely go all out to beat Phoenix on 4/1 to try to win the season series 3-1. When the Mavs play Utah on 4/13 and the Spurs on 4/15, all those teams will be resting players, and the Mavs have the best bench in the league. The rest of the games on the schedule are very winnable games.

They actually *can* pull it off. Whether the *will* is another question of course.

I say this with the greatest regard for the Dallas mavericks, and I say this as a fan. There is no way that The Mavericks can win 70 games. I don't know how, but I think that the mavs are just going to fall short.

no.

They are 56-11 with 15 games left. So they would need to go 14-1 to get a 70 win season.

Their schedule for the rest of March is...

23rd - @ Boston
25th - @ Atlanta
27th - @ New Orleans/OK City
28th - Milwaukee
30th- New York

So they can win all of those games. That would make them 61-11 with 10 games left if they won all 5 games.

But then there is April:

1st - @ Phoenix
3rd - @ Sacremento
6th - @ Denver
7th - Portland
9th - LA Clippers
11th - @ Minnesota
13th - Utah
15th - San Antonio
17th - @ Golden State
18th - @ Seattle

I think they will lose 2 games there but you never know.

I'll say that they will go 67-15.

The Mavericks probably could win 70 but won't because they would only have to lose one more time to do that, and i've been reading lots of blogs that says they want to rest Nowitzki a little bit.

i think for Mavericks fan anything short of a championship is a failure this year (esp. being up in the finals last year). So i think they'll rest their starters once they clinch home court and that'll probably give them at least 2 or 3 more losses between now and the end of the season.

properly, i don't think of so... The popular season interior the NBA includes 80 two video games, and you will possibly might desire to lose in basic terms twelve cases to get seventy wins. As of now, the Mavericks carry a fifty one-9 checklist... that they had might desire to flow 19-3 over the final 22 to get to 70-12. conceivable, yet they have already clinched a playoff spot. If I have been the pinnacle coach, i might relax the starters down the stretch, because of the fact i comprehend that some extra wins might clinch abode court docket benefit. it would be cool to work out, although.

More than likely they will. They only play San Antonio and Phoenix one more time each, the other teams are Celtics, Knicks, Warriors, T-wolves, Supersonics (no Ray Allen), Cavs, Kings, T-Blazers, Jazz, Hornets and Hawks. Not really the hardest teams to beat, and they have pounded them already this year a few times. Probablity of them doing it is really good. They have 15 games left. I wouldn't bet against it happening.

No way, that is almost impossible considering that their greatest winning streak this year was 18 games and they need to win all their following 15 games to achieve 70, is difficult but not impossible; ill be glad if they somehow manage to make it.

No. They would have to win 14 of their last 15 games left to do so.

They will more than likey rest some of their star players near the end for the playoffs.

I think they would win at least 65 games. That's a good clue. I don't know if they'll reach 70 wins, though. It's a long shot. Just remember, impossible is nothing.
