My younger sister needs to write a lete of apology to a couple she stole from, (you know a small punsifment the courts decided). She is a young girl with no record and was dared to steal their newspaper or something along those lines. The judge wants her to write a letter of apology, not sure how it should go........any suggestions?

I suggest you let her write it. It should explain what she did, an expression of remorse, an explaination of why such an action was wrong, and a promise to live this day forth a better person.

Dear mr and mrs smith,
my name is whatever, on the night of such and such, i was dared to steal your whatever by my friends as a school prank, i have never done anything like this in my life, i am sorry that i was even talked in to this by ny peers, there is really no way for me to explain my actions that day, other than i was very wrong in my judgement of the peole i was with and my wanting to be accepted as one of them.
i have always been a good student and i would ask for your forgiveness as i am truly sorry. I would like to volunteer my time to you in your garden or planting flowers.
please believe me when i tell you that i will never hang around bad people again, sincerely whatever her name is
