i can not believe this nonsense, im not watching idol any
more cos its becoming something other than a singing competition. If good singers are getting voted off then wats the point. They should make idol votes half judge and half public, because the public is deaf and incapable of selecting talented singers over rubbish. Making it this way would ensure that those that really can sing would remain in the competition.

OR the judges should pick the bottom three singers and america votes for the person they want out of those three. this would eliminate the problem of good singer whose fan base is the same as other excellent singers.

I agree with you. If the judges helped in the voting what's been happening wouldn't be able to continue.
Have you been to the site--votefortheworst.com---that's what is going on. And Howard Stern announced it on his radio show, so now even more people are doing it. My son just showed it to me today. That's why that kid that can't sing is still on there, and the good ones are going home.

I do believe the voting system needs to be changed. And I agree that the judges should have a bit of say in the rankings. (Though it may end up that it would look rigged if the judges had a say). I think there should be a limited number of votes one can call in. Or that there should be a random number that you have to press at the end of the message to validate your vote. Something has to be done or they will loose a lot of fans come next season!

America obviously is voting with their eyes instead of their ears! It is no longer about who is the best singer. If it were alot of people wouldn't still be there. Perhaps others who have gone would still be getting the chance they deserve! Sometimes I think we should be voting for the worst instead of the best! I agree in part with changing the voting but I would give the judges a veto vote after America votes!

I think the whole point is who the voters pick the voters are the target audience they are the ones who buy the music. In the history of AI people support who they like regardless that's why some many runner ups are successful they maintained their fan base after the competition the ones that slide into first by popularity (like factor) don't succeed as well in the music industry.

YES!!! Fabulous idea!! I so agree. The voting has become almost a joke. I don't think they're deaf, I think people are voting as a joke now. It's like they want to see who they can keep in the longest that sucks the worst. I think the show will be seeing it's last season soon.

I think that'd be a wise idea, but I'm not sure how easy that'd be done. There are sooo many votes that come in each week. It'd probably equal out to be about the same anyway. Plus the Idol audience loves having control. It isn't always fair, but that's TV for ya. :/

I was thinking the other day that they need to do something so these IDIOTS cannot be voted to stay. Look at Chicken Little last year. He drove me NUTS too until he finally left. Maybe they should have one opportunity to stop the person voted off from going and choose someone else to go. Just once per season. They have to DO SOMETHING - this is NUTS

I would agree!! To me its not about who sings the best, its about how many friends you have to vote for you!! And how many votes each does. It makes me mad when you watch a show, and you know who the bottom 3 should be, then they put 2 of the god ones in the bottom. Sanjaya should be gone, but they send Stephanie home. Doesnt make sense to me.

Nope they shouldn't. The idea is to find someone the public likes. Leaving it open to the public to decide who they want to hear makes the most sense. I'm assuming of course that the people who vote are also the people who buy idol cds.

They should divide the scores by 13 then subtract 5 then see who can eat the most sticks of butter to decide the winner. Trust me my way will product better results and be more watchable.
