I would like to hear all view that people have about women with dreadlocks and piercings, good, bad or indifferent. :)

Do you think people with them are different to people without?
Would you judge them differently?
Would you hire some without then over a person with, if you had a choice?
Would you consider someone with to be less trust worthy?
What difference does it make?

I have brown, and blonde, dreads down to the bottom of my rib cage.
Piercing wise I have 2 rings in left side of nose, a small barbell in right eyebrow, a ring in the right hand side of my bottom lip, a ring in my right tragus (little numb of ear) and two 'normal' rings in each ear.

I am also thinking about this in terms of starting my own practice in animal behaviour consultaions, so safety isn't really an issue.

If done nicely fine...

You are just expressing self and

raver or metal/rock chick types Ive seen are the nicest people going.

Often intelligent creative students.

So Id think you are arty in some way.

Also fairly left wing and think about others.

I would consider them more honest as no fake ness

Job wise no probs except where say there is a safety issue ... ie long dreds and open machinery = dreds in machinery and splattered girl...

Now if covered up safely fine.

Same with pircings and electrician work.

This is as grew up with rock /ravey hippie types and seen that its more likly to be the

'normal' types that drink to much, cause grief, get violent, behave in a nasty bitchy manner, lack creative thinking and judge too much

I don't see a problem with women with piercings or dreadlocks. I am a firm believer though that everything should be done in moderation. I don't think any less of people who have piercings or dreads, in fact I think some dreads are very pretty. I wouldn't hire or not hire someone because of the way they look on the outside either, it's what they are capable of doing that counts and is most important. I would much rather hire a competent person with piercings on their face than a "normal" looking person that couldn't work in a pie factory! Ideally, I believe what is on the inside is what counts. It's like the old saying, "You can't choose a book by it's cover."

I think it's just hair and how you wear it is your business and choice. I also feel that you should not be discriminated against if you have twist, dreads, or an afro. However, in a predominately white corporate world, your hair might be looked at as "too ethnic" which is just a racist's politically correct way of saying too black.

We all would like to do what we want and still be accepted in the world in general; have as many tattoos as we want, dye our hair any color, wear loud colors. But let's face it in the corporate world you have to tone it down! So if your hair is outrageous, you have tattoos on your neck, or your favorite color is hot pink (which you think you should wear every day to work), you will not be taken seriously.
It's a sad thing for most who like to stand out with hair, clothing, body piercings, or tattoos but it's reality. I have a tattoo myself but it is in a place you won't see because I was thinking of my future and how most likely I would be working in a corporate setting someday.
Wear your hair as you want it but don't take it too far with adding crazy colors like I see some girls that have bright orange dreads and such.

depends where the piercings are.overall i think they're pretty cool and sometimes kinky but people are very judgemental.dreads also look good on women but again, people will judge. then saying that some people are so small minded that they will judge you anyway,no matter how you look or what you've got pierced. so what have you got done?

it should be a matter of personal choice but the reality is that they will be judged by many people
If I thought they were the best candidate for the job I would hire them

i have no problem with locks but excessive pericings especially facial ones i don't like. i have worked for more than one company that won't hire someone with facial pericings. it is unprofessional and i think meant for people who are in there teens not looking for reall work

Don't like it, i like women to have long clean hair and no piercings or tattoos, a more feminine look is what i like best.

but if you want to have that style of piercings and dreadlocks its your choice. :~)

personally it is not a look I would go for myself, but I wouldn't discriminate against someone with them either.
